Fashion & Society
King Louis & Marie Antoinette both live very spoiled lives. Although they may both have lavish lifestyles, they still are extremely busy and have daily routines, which they both stick by. King Louis is extremely busy. King Louis wakes up around 7:00 to drink lemon juice and, eat bread. If there is good weather he will go out with the captain of the guard. At 8:00 he had then went to his study. At 11:00 he attends mass. At 11:25 he returns to eat lunch which is pate, curlet, and some fruits, and water. He then goes to visit his family, speak to clergy, or go for walks in the garden at the Palace. From 12:00 - 9:00 he held a council. At 9:00 he gives his officers their orders (if there are any) and goes to eat dinner with his family. At 11:00 sharp he goes to bed. King Louis is lucky to get at least six hours of sleep. Marie's routine on the other hand is a little less busy. She wakes up around 8:00 and begins her day with picking a catalog of clothing she will wear for the morning, afternoon, and evening. She then eats breakfast in bed, or on her couch. She eats eats chocolates, and drinks coffee. She then took a bath in a portable bathtub. On certain days she even eats breakfast in the bath. At 12:00 couches would be set up for the Superintendent, The Governess of Children of France, and ladies of honor. She is dressed and her hair styled in front of her company. After that her secretary presents to her orders to be officially signed and, watches presentations of colonels taking leave of Court. After that she would attended mass. At 9:00 she would eat dinner with her family. After dinner she would get changed into her evening attire. If she still wanted to she would attend a play, concert, opera, or party. When she gets ready for bed wardrobe women bring in baskets to discard her clothing into. She would then go to bed with Louis. Marie usually stayed up longer than Louis so that would mean she would get her own apartment to sleep on those nights. These two truly have a desirable lifestyle that any member from our estate would like to have. Marie Antoinette also has a fine taste for the latest fashion's. She orders all her dresses from Rose Bertin, who is coincidentally the Minister of Fashion. Marie's fashion choices are also related to the important court etiquette needed at Versailles. Louis and Marie are the epitome of the upper class.
